San Francisco and the wider Bay Area are especially strong for technology and startup conversations. The audience is geographically spread, so city versus Peninsula location should follow the actual target accounts.
Is San Francisco a good city for executive dinners?
Yes. In CXO & Co’s September 2026 LinkedIn Sales Navigator searches, the San Francisco Bay Area returned more than 7 million+ lead results and over 56,000+ CXO and VP level profiles at companies with 1,001+ employees. The narrower search applied CXO or Vice President seniority and current company headcount of 1,001 or more, alongside the geography filter. These are Sales Navigator search results, not a count of unique, event-ready buyers. Search filters and LinkedIn data may change.
02 / Audience fit
Who should host here?
Especially strong
Technology and startups. The region offers a deep technology ecosystem, including enterprise vendors, high-growth firms and investors. The enterprise-filtered screenshot is a proxy for large-company leadership, not a measure of startup founders.
Also a good fit
Other industries and focused CISO, CFO, CMO, CRO, HR and Chief People Officer roundtables can work when the topic and account list are specific.
The Bay Area is a regional market, not a single downtown commute. A Financial District venue may suit SF offices while South Bay or Peninsula accounts could face a long return trip. Check where invitees actually work and choose BART, Caltrain or car access accordingly.

Three private dining venues to consider
These are researched options, not contracted recommendations. Capacity includes guests, hosts and a moderator. Check the exact seated layout, minimum spend, accessibility, AV, dietary requirements and cancellation terms.
A private room at Kokkari in the Financial District, with windows and wine-rack backdrop. The venue lists up to 30 seated, giving a compact enterprise group room for hosts.
Watch out: Confirm the one-table arrangement and whether the room's connection to the main restaurant affects confidentiality or acoustics. Ask for current minimum spend.

Perbacco Barolo Room
Perbacco's most private room seats up to 18 and overlooks the kitchen and wine cellar. It is suited to a smaller, carefully selected technology or cross-sector conversation.
Watch out: Eighteen includes everyone at the table, so a 15–20 external guest goal can exceed it. The Barbaresco partition seats up to 24 but is semi-private; confirm which privacy tradeoff works.
An exclusively booked private dining room above The Progress, seating up to 40. Its published package lists $165 per guest and a $700 food-and-beverage minimum, including beverages, tax, gratuity and the SF mandate fee.
Watch out: Fillmore may be less convenient for a downtown office cluster. Confirm layout, AV and all fees; the published rate and minimum are a starting point, not a complete event quote.
Venue details were checked 29 September 2026. The Workshop's published figures may change; request a current proposal. These are San Francisco venues, so a Peninsula-heavy account list may call for a different shortlist.
04 / Budget
What does a San Francisco executive dinner cost?
The following are initial planning benchmarks informed by our executive dinner planning guide for an 18-person working room, plus CXO & Co's estimated internal labour allowance. All figures are in USD and are not San Francisco venue quotes.
Line itemBenchmarkScope
Venue, food and alcohol$7,000–$10,000Private room and hospitality
Delegate acquisition$6,000Finding and securing senior guests
Independent facilitator$2,500Optional moderation
Estimated internal labour$10,000250 hours × $40/hour for delegate acquisition and event management
Estimated total including internal labour$25,500–$28,500Sum of all line items above; includes optional facilitator; excludes extras
These USD figures are CXO & Co's planning benchmark, not a Bay Area venue quote. As one transparent local reference, The Workshop publishes a $4,500 food-and-beverage minimum and $165 per seated guest, with beverages and additional charges on top. SF mandate fees, tax, service, room minimums and AV require a current itemised quote. The total includes an estimated 250 hours of internal labour for delegate acquisition and event management, valued at $40/hour. This is a planning allowance supplied by CXO & Co; actual time will depend on the brief.
05 / Execution
How we would plan it
Choose one audience and issue. A technology or startup discussion needs a precise operating question, not a broad innovation theme.
Map accounts and commutes. Separate SF, Peninsula and South Bay accounts; choose a realistic dinner catchment.
Count every seat. Include external guests, your team and a moderator; confirm the discussion layout.
Begin early. Our planning guide recommends at least 90 days, including roughly ten weeks of guest acquisition.
Make conversation useful. Use a sharp question, restrained host role and thoughtful follow-up, rather than a sales presentation.
06 / Quick answers
Frequently asked questions
How many executives should we invite?
Count hosts and moderator in the room total. Perbacco's Barolo Room seats 18, Kokkari's Oenos Room up to 30 and The Workshop up to 40. Confirm a conversational layout for the chosen guest target.
Should we host in San Francisco or the Peninsula?
Follow the target accounts. A city room is convenient for SF offices, while a Peninsula-heavy list may justify a venue closer to their workplaces. Model actual evening journeys.
Which venue should we choose?
Kokkari offers a 30-seat private room, Perbacco an 18-seat private room, and The Workshop up to 40 seated. Compare privacy, travel and current total cost.
